Since 2004, I have provided counseling and other mental health services in a wide range of settings including schools, group homes, agencies, and private practice. I have over seven years of experience in the child welfare system working with children, adults, and families involved in foster care. In working with clients heavily impacted by trauma, I have had the opportunity to treat a vast array of mental health conditions including but not limited to PTSD, adjustment disorders, behavior/conduct problems, ADHD, anxiety, depression, self-injury, grief/bereavement, and relational problems.
When I entered private practice in 2014 and began providing counseling to the general population, I quickly realized that many people have experienced trauma to varying degrees. In hopes of strengthening my ability to help those impacted by trauma, I chose to pursue training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). I also regularly practice from other research-driven theoretical models including Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Trauma-Focused CBT, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and the Attachment Self-Regulation Competency (ARC) framework. I often incorporate mindfulness into my work with clients. Frequently, I provide education and support to parents on responding effectively to their children’s emotional and behavioral needs.
In 2018, I chose to take my career and passion for it to the next level by starting my own practice. In working with individuals of varying age, gender affiliation, and socioeconomic status, I have recognized the great need for quality but accessible mental health treatment. I understand the strength it takes to reach out for help, and I am passionate about helping people face the emotional struggles that often prevent them from living the lives they have imagined for themselves. I work closely with my clients to set goals that will facilitate growth and healing in multiple aspects of their lives. I have been greatly impacted and inspired by my clients, many of whom have bravely overcome significant challenges in order to lead more fulfilling and meaningful lives.
